TC, the Worm, and Foul's Destiny

I did a brief search, as I know this has been discussed before, but I can't seem to find the thread I'm thinking of...

Anyway, if TC is the WotWE (as it stands to reason that he is... the Earth is built on the Worm's back, but the Arch of Time is built on Wild Magic, which is graven in every rock, and TC is the White Gold, Linden's seeing the Worm awaken and recognizing (and being recognized by) it, etc), then Infelice's statement that Linden has roused the Worm is extremely accurate.

Anyway, my point is... we don't know that the Land will be saved; at least, not in its current form. But what I haven't seen considered is that the Land might end much sooner than any of us are expecting. What if the destruction of the Land occurs in AATE?

The thing that really started my thinking about this was actually a quote in Runes, when Linden is being translated to the Land. In fact, Foul states that the destruction of the Earth is only his immediate goal, and that he has "deeper purposes," which he has not yet unveiled.

Could it be that Foul will be let loose from his prison to attack the Creator directly, perhaps with that conflict taking place in our own "real" world?

While stylistically and thematically I have a hard time imagining that taking place, it's intriguing enough that I have to wonder :) I especially don't know how that would fit in with the established conventions of the Chronicles so far (Foul and the Creator being aspects of TC's psyche), or how Sheriff Lytton would react to it (but I'd love to see his face when confronted with Foul in the flesh!), but it fits with the downward trend we're seeing :)

Of course, that would leave unresolved the Sandgorgons, the Giants, and Joan, so probably not...

You know, it would really suck if we finally got to meet Covenant, and then the world ended, and the REST of the story was all about Linden some more!!! Talk about bitter.

I don't think Covenant can be outside the Land any more. No Land, no Covenant.

And I don't think that Foul is from Covenant's real world, as that is another world that is limited and constrained by Time. Foul is from a place where there is no Time, no sequentiality, no causality.

However, for years now I've been saying that I think Covenant and Linden's real world is in danger. I'm sure that it's threatened.
