Valkyrie
I've been waiting to see this movie for a long time. It's got two very good actors in it - Cruise and Branagh - and looks and sounds great. I wonder if they will be true to history and depict what actually happened to the conspirators, namely the hanging from meathooks for several hours . . . .

I've been looking forward to this film also. I don't like Cruise, but Branagh is a fantastic actor.

I'll pass on this movie.

But the thought of seeing Cruise hanging on a meathook for several hours? Come on, you know you want to...

I'm passing on this one, too. I can't stand Cruise.

After his Oscar-worthy performance in Tropic Thunder; I'll probably give Cruise one more chance to impress me. After all, he only tweaks me when he's being himself.

Cannot stand Tom Cruise the human being. He's a self-righteous, arrogant jerk.
But he is an extremely fine actor, at his best (his was frankly the least impressive performance in Tropic Thunder imho, but that is like praising with faint damnation). Sooner or later I'll give this a go.

Two Words. Minority Report. I can't hate him as an actor after that movie. (An already forgotten masterpiece of science fiction)

I don't like Cruise one little bit, and I think he's completely overrated as an actor. I enjoyed Minority Report in spite of both him and Spielberg.

I didn't even like Minority Report (though I agree he did a fine job in it.....but I pretty much like everything else he's been in.

I don't think he can act at all. But I love both Minority Report and The Last Samurai. I could certainly give this a look.

I didn't mean to start the Cruise hatefest.

But, I agree that he's a horrible actor. Having said that, I'll see Valkyrie because the subject matter fascinates me.
The best Cruise movie was "A Few Good Men."

I can't help but notice that this movie opens on Christmas.
Nothing says holiday fun like a good Hitler movie?
Or are they entertaining all the Jewish people who go to the movies Christmas day cuz everything else is closed?
Best Cruise movie was Legend.

Best Cruise movie was The Last Samurai (despite Cruise being in it.)

The Last Samurai was good because of Cruise, but great because of Ken Watanabe.
That being said, I've been impressed with Cruise's ability in recent years. Minority Report, Last Samurai and even War of the Worlds were all excellent films. Here's hoping that he can keep it up.

Hated A Few Good Men. Over-acted Oscar pandering.

He's always had that angst after the Marine Corps turned him down.

I liked Cruise best in Collateral and Vanilla Sky.
Speaking of one-dimensional actors boy I can't wait to pass on The Day the Earth Stood Still-if Reeves appeared on Earth and told me it was all over I'd bust my sides ROTFLMAO!

I loved Magnolia and Vanilla Sky too. (apparently I'm in the minority on the latter)

I was going to say Magnolia as well, but was afraid of public ridicule...
