Man this guy's vision, research and style just amazes me! I've read Into Thin Air and am about a third into Under the Banner of Heaven. I've seen the movie versions of Into Thin Air and Into the Wild. Into the Wild leaves my jaw on the floor till today!!

"Under the Banner of Heaven" was an eye opener for sure. He's an interesting writer. I like him too.

Into the Wild is an absolutely heartbreaking movie with a great new actor, directed by Sean Penn. Into Thin Air is about the teams of mountain climbers lost on Everest during it worst season.

Read "Into The Wild" recently. The GF loved it...(She says you should google Everette Reuss, who was the inspiration for McCandless, if you liked "Wild" you'll like his writing too).

It wasn't bad, but I thought the guy was a bit of a dumbass...could easily have survived with a little preparation.

I've read both of those books, Danlo. Heaven was a little tough to stomach at times. I think I read Thin Air in just about one sitting. It was a good read for sure.
