About the trucker...refresh my memory

About the trucker who picked TC up on his determined walk....the guy was pretty knowledgeable about "the leper," as far as his own redneck fears were concerned, but remind me, does TC keep his maimed hand in his pocket 100% of the time he is with this trucker, does the trucker just flat out not notice it after spending a whole evening drinking at the same table with TC, or does SRD just not find this detail relevant to this portion of the story? I can't remember if TC was right-handed or not, and I can't remember if the story says he kept the right hand in his pocket at all times, but seems to me the trucker, who had a very strong opinion about "that leper," would have noticed the hand and remarked on it. I'm sure I am just not remembering something, but it's bugging me for some reason. And Blackhawk, how's that rendering of The First coming along? Can I get it for a Christmas present?

I don't see anything where Covenant hid his halfhand, either in the truck or in the bar.
Then again, the trucker's knowledge of "the leper" doesn't seem to extend to his being a half-hand, either.

Agree with WF. Also, I remember that TC tried to tell the trucker, prior to entering the bar, that he was in fact "the leper" and the trucker didn't believe him.

Yea, I wasn't necessarily wanting to know if the trucker thought TC was a leper, just wondering why he didn't notice the maimed hand. I think that's something I would notice immediately, nosy or not. Especially on someone I spent several hours with sitting beside at a table. The ocher robe color was remembered throughout all the books, although TC only saw him briefly. He never spent several hours with him like the trucker. My thought is a halfhand is much more interesting than a robe color. Just a for instance, not the only example I have in mind.

Well, you seem to be assuming that the trucker's observational skills must have been on the same level as Covenant's. But I think that whole episode showed the trucker was a spectacularly unobservant individual. I think he refused to believe Covenant was "the leper" because Covenat just didn't "fit" the trucker's mental image of what a leper should look like, whatever that might be.

Covenant: Look. I lost my fingers. [waves hand]
Trucker: That's nothin. I lost my whole friggin arm. [waves shoulder stump].
Covenant: Hellfire.

Wayfriend funny. OK, so no one thinks it odd that it wasn't mentioned. OK, I defer to the masses. I give up.

the Truckers cigar must have been dulling his perceptions and vision, nothing that i can recal mentioned it... The trucker was more interested in getting a free drink. Im not sure but I dont know if the waitress that told the trucker about TC mentioned a description of him but probably just ranted and raved how that leper came into town and ruined everyones day.
Sorry...I ran into some problems while trying to find a better program for rendering clothing and Armor, what im using takes along time to render and manipulate, so ive been searching with little luck. (Bare with me) I mentioned it in the thread that you had examples for me to look at. Well...

.. it definitely wont be ready for Christmas, sorry.
I will start on that ASAP ..to tell you the truth I have not done anything for over a month..but im starting the chronicles again soon and it will get me back to the land, Unless a tragic accident or worse I wont dis-appear and will get more of the land done because it is the only thing I have interest in creating.

Hey, don't worry about the First; she's out there and not going naked. Ha! Your work is soooo worth the wait; you have a superb talent and eye for stuff. Whenever it appears, be it now or when the next book arrives, it will be worth it. Happy New Year, Blackhawk.

Wow... thank you very much, and Happy New Year to too.
