Tabs in posts?

Hey there,
Sorry if something exists on this.
I want to be able to put a tab in my post, but neither the bbcode nor html will allow it to happen. Is there a way to do this? In particular it throws off the formatting of poetry.

Like this? (alt+255)x5 The lack of indenting killed me at first, but I've learned to live without it.

Fantastic! Thank you so much everyone. I have a couple of poems in the Hall Of Gifts where formatting is extremely important to me, and this totally helped.
