Have you ever set your hair on fire?

A long time ago I set my hair on fire by mistake.
Baby's on fire, better put her in the water.
Look at her laughing, like a heifer to the slaughter.
I don't recall the name of the band that sang that song but supposedly the guy wrote it after a woman at a party set her hair on fire just because he asked her too.

duh.

...ayeup...
I blame the bong we were using at the time.
Yeah, that's the ticket...
...it was all the bong's fault...

Absolutely! When I was about 18, in the days when I would mousse my hair within an inch of it's life, a stray piece of hair flopped forward while I was trying to light my cigarette.
Luckily one of my friends was there and proceeded to slap me around the head.

That's what friends are for, isn't it?

Ditto here. Bangs and bongs don't mix. Though it makes for an awkward explanation to the parents: "Oh yes, Dad, I was cooking..."

I had a cat who lit his tail on fire. And who was too stupid to sit still while on fire. He almost lit the curtains on fire before we could catch him. And the tablecloth. And the couch. ...
Heh. Cat on fire...

Yes! Definitely! I was at a carols by candlelight thing and I think I was about 9. I had really long hair and I was swaying and singing and then I heard this really weird noise near my ear and there was this TERRIBLE smell. So a lot of batting with my hand ensued. At the time I think I had got away with it--that no one noticed...but I'm sure they did!

Back when I had a mustache and I smoked, I used to torch it on a regular basis, especially when I used a Zippo.

How come there's no choice in the poll for "no"?

This hair-on-fire business is more common than I thought.

Are you the one who set your hair on fire on purpose?

Brian Eno wrote the lyrics:
better throw her in the water...
I was living with this girl in a crappy apartment and it started to get cold so I began to light the pilot on the wall furnace, she came up and said maybe turning this red button will help, as I was saying
NO she turned it and a ball of flame knocked me halfway across the room and I lost the right side of my mustache, beard and eyebrows and had to put out my hair.

Speaking of what danlo said ... Does removing the hair from you hand and forearm while lighting the grill count? If so, I do it repeatedly.

Come on, that is nothing compared to having your long head hair burning. Pure adrenaline!! NOT that I suggest trying it. (At least balon has the guts to admit it!! kudos.)

True enough.
Having the singed smell of long hair right next to your face is definitely an experience in itself...

No, but I have singed it. Out drinking on The Flats in high school. We started a bonfire with pallets and hay bails. The first jump over it was fine, but by the time I finished my beer...
