'Nom' moments of the Gap (INEVITABLE SPOILERS)

Post by CovenantJr »

You know what a 'Nom' moment is. It's a moment like the one in the Second Chronicles that prompts you (or me, at least, and I know I'm not alone) to put the book down for a moment and whisper words to the effect of "No. <insert expletive>. Way."

So what Nom moments do you remember from the Gap?

I've only read the series once, and that was a couple of years ago now, but I remember one quite distinctly: 'Give your command codes to Nick Succorso.'

Warden's use of the words, apotheosis and vasectomy in consecutive sentences also comes to mind.

When you find out Morn is pregnant.

When Milos Taverner is injected with mutagens.

Nick is given Angus' command codes.

Definitely. I have only read the series once - I remember more of a constant building of tension and pressure from events - a lot of "uh <expletive> - ok, what's next".

But Nom moments? Like others, the biggest - "Give your commands to Nick Succorso"

I wonder what reaction there would be to a t-shirt that said: "Give your command codes to Nick Succorso", from the general public.

I'd say (in my town of ~200,000) - none, or 'What??' - but if someone recognised it, it would all be worth it!

I think we should just print up a shirt that reads, "NOM" :)

Yeah, but I'm sure you'd revel in wearing one with a tombstone inscribed,
Nick

What would you want it to say?

Other than "Conformity of Purpose," of course :)
