Prices 10 years ago?

Anybody know a good source to see how much things cost 10 years ago? Gallon of milk? Gallon of heating oil? Box of Cheerios? I'm hoping to find something fairly comprehensive, not just a few items. I'd think there's some govt statistics on inflation and all that, but it's tough to know how to google it. Nothing's working so far.

Dunno if this will help with the cost of specific items, but it may be a starting point, Fist.

I don't remember what the prices were 10 years back, but I do remember what I was making then, and am glad I don't make that anymore......

I could give you a running tally on the up-down nature of fuel prices in Australia (I record the fuel price per litre as well as mileage each time I fill up!)

Thanks for the links, Menolly and Dromond.
And Elfgirl - Sheesh!

Why can't you be over here??
dAN, it's kinda hysterical when the Social Security statement comes each year, showing what I've made every year of my life.
