Coraline

Okay, so it's a local flick for me (my daughter's friends parents did the faces), so I may be a bit biased, but -
This was a damned fine little film. Gaimen's work doesn't always translate this well, but they did a really good job. I wouldn't suggest taking small children without seeing it first - but I was terrified of Cruella DeVille (the animated one), so what do I know?
Solid in tone, nailed childhood dreams and nightmares...
Anyone else have a thought?

I really want to see this one...but I'm broke...I'll let you know.
Did you see it in 3D?

Where do you live? I'm in SE Portland, but I work in Gresham.
Other than that, I'm not interested in this film.

My wife and son, who is six, went to see it and both enjoyed it. They also took my son's friend, an ADD type, who apparently sat riveted throughout.

Coraline is fantastic.
The story is very well-told, acting awesome, editing really good and animation fantastic. There's a creepy edge to the film, and many questions still linger after the film is over. The greatest thing about Coraline though is the "animatogrphy" and direction. Absolutely jaw-dropping shots and "camera-work", especially considering it's all clay-mation dolls. I couldn't believe what I was seeing...without 3D.
I highly recommend this one for anyone who loves the artsy side of film, and for those who wouldn't consider themselves in that category, it's still a good animated movie.

I have to give it a thumbs up as well, worth watching plain, or in 3D.

Very good movie. Kept my 5 year old riveted yet was deep enough and good enough to keep the wife and I interested as well.
