There is, and I think it's my primary Wing...
Not everybody buys into that wing-theory stuff. So you're a Riso Enneagramist? Or is there a secondary wing in your flavor of the Enneagram?

First there were 2 wings, then suddenly 1 wing, and now wing theory is mostly abandoned.

On the other hand, I like Riso, he's my favorite Enneagram author. Helen Palmer sucked major juevos. What do you think of Ichavo?

My Ennea-type, by the way, is at your stress point. Makes sense, doesn't it?

I used to publish articles in the Enneagram Monthly. I don't know if it's still around. I doubt it. This reminds me of Jack Labanauskas, and the rather impressive survey they did at the EM of their readership (of about 1000) attempting to match Enneagram types to Myers-Briggs types. The poll results are still available online if you're interested, although it is not under Jack's name and he wasn't directly involved in it.

hmmm...I ran across this randomly once upon a time...took a quiz, think it made me a 5 with a wing 4 or something? Did it the same way I look at my horoscope, for fun to see what it said. Didn't bother to check if it has any validity...but if Worm did it, it might...time to see if I saved it somewhere.

Vraith,

It sounds like you took the online Riso-Hudson Enneagram Type Indicator, or RHETI.

I don't know that there's any objective validity to typology, but their system helped me 16 years ago in overcoming some personal difficulties. Within a month's time I was a vastly improved person because of it. So subjectively speaking I think it is valid.

You scored 5w4, according to their terminology. It took weeks for me to decide on 5w4 as my type.

SRD seems like a type 4 to me.

Fours are self-aware, sensitive, and reserved. They are emotionally honest, creative, and personal, but can also be moody and self-conscious. Withholding themselves from others due to feeling vulnerable and defective, they can also feel disdainful and exempt from ordinary ways of living. They typically have problems with melancholy, self-indulgence, and self-pity. At their Best: inspired and highly creative, they are able to renew themselves and transform their experiences.
Typically, type 4's hate it when things like this are put in the public eye. Sorry, Steve! It's only a guess anyway...

That's too weird for me. Are y'all talking numerology?

Typology.

Admittedly, in the beginning there was some numerology involved in the Enneagram, namely, the Law of 3, and the Law of 7. The Enneagram is based loosely on a holistic mystical-spiritual movement known as the Fourth Way, begun by G.I. Gurdjieff. But the Enneagram we know today is based directly out of the teachings of Oscar Ichazo and Claudio Naranjo in Chile. Naranjo brought the Enneagram to the US and billed it as a personal growth system. It was then taken up by various American authors such as Don Richard Riso and Helen Palmer.

Your avatar is very Goth, very type 4-ish. So is the Emo fad. The increased fascination with vampires is also 4-ish.

I took the real quick test-I'm somewhere between a 4 and a 9 (Peacemaker) but probably a 4 too. I'll have to keep this in my sub-religions along with the Church of the Subgenius and Transhumanism. :P

I did the freebie quick version, too -- I'm either a 1, 3 or 5. There's an additional free test at that site called the QUEST, which I also took -- says of those three above, I'm most likely to be a 5, least likely to be a 3.

Fad? Increased? I'm not sure you've known Turiya long enough to say whether she's faddy or experiencing increased anything...

It's okay. He's a booger anyway. I don't expect his pretentious little mind to fully wrap around the awesomeness that is Turiya Foul. Furthermore, there's a huge difference between bipolar and emo. And it's ninjas, not vampires, that hold the fascination. Goth ninjas.

And my avatar is not merely goth. It is Cradle of Filth. They are lustmorde vampiric metal. Their latest album details the life and atrocities of a 14th century serial killer and child molester. So not goth. Goth doesn't even begin to cover it, nor emo, nor any other "fad" as you call it. Now quit being a booger and respect your elders.

And the next highest one I got was a 9, like danlo. Very strange. :hairs:

Vraith,
Remember that line about Kaiser Soze? The line about fear?
Well take that and insert how exact and real the Enneagram is, and then you get the picture (it takes some imagination, but I couldn't think of anything else that put it so intensly). It's that dead-on. Freaking amazing. And deep. Don't just dabble...it's pointless you won't get it or be able to use it. It's deep and worth it, it'll help you understand yourself and others, the world around you...it's amazing: primary type, wings, harmonics, intelligences, levels of development, stress/growth, etc. Truly amazing. It'll also, once you know it a little, help you understand how/why others post the way they do...

Thanks for popping this thread, Worm...glad someone else here knows a lil' bit. :)

I'd bet there isn't one other 8 on the Watch. Have you seen/read any?

Found my old one on a disk, and took another one. Both say the same thing, 5, wing 4. I must fit the 'types' pretty closely, since other options weren't mentioned. Read the synopsis, and they do sound incredibly like me (both the bad stuff and the good...though I've dealt with most of the bad over the years, it constantly creeps back in)
I don't remember what Kaiser Soze said about fear...haven't seen the film in forever...refresh me.

Verbal :"Who is Keyser Soze? He is supposed to be Turkish. Some say his father was German. Nobody believed he was real. Nobody ever saw him or knew anybody that ever worked directly for him, but to hear Kobayashi tell it, anybody could have worked for Soze. You never knew. That was his power. The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that, poof. He's gone...

Flashback Story: "...Wouldn't it make sense to find someone who could talk to me so you could find the person that set me on fire, perhaps? He is the Devil. You've never seen anyone like Keyser Soze in all your miserable life, you idiot. Keyser Soze. Do you at least understand that? Keyser Soze. The Devil himself. Or are you American policemen so stupid that you haven't even heard of him? Keyser Soze, you ridiculous man. KEYSER SOZE!"...

Verbal again: "He lets the last Hungarian go. He waits until his wife and kids are in the ground and then he goes after the rest of the mob. He kills their kids, he kills their wives, he kills their parents and their parents' friends. He burns down the houses they live in and the stores they work in, he kills people that owe them money. And like that he was gone. Underground. Nobody has ever seen him since. He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. "Rat on your pop, and Keyser Soze will get you." And no-one ever really believes...

...Keaton always said, "I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him." Well I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is Keyser Soze."

I love that line so much, I think I'm gonna quote it in my sig...

Did I mention anything about bipolar? You're admitting to being a cutter then, correct?

I didn't say one way or another.
