I just finished watching Neverending Story again...

...and the similarities between the Gaints of the Land and the Rockbiter's of Fantasia are interesting in idea...plus, the beginning of the film starts with the three on their way to the great tower, somewhat like Saltheart...

...also, the Orin is nearly the same symbol as the Worm Ourboros...

...I guess it's just interesting how fantasy ideas and elements, characterizations find their way into seperate stories near the same time, with different authors...or inspire later works...

There has never been a worse movie adoption of a novel than "The Neverending Story". In fact there has never been a worse novel ...

Yeah, but besides Legend, there has never been a film that captures the visual fantasy element, and the imagination of a twelve year old boy, like NE...

Yeah, but besides Legend, there has never been a film that captured the 12-year-old-like mental abilities of a screenwriter and director more than NE.

I can agree with that to some extent...but what about Blade Runner then? I feel the same way about that film...

With all due respect - Bladerunner is a piece of film art. How can you possibly comapre it to a piece of fairy tale girly movie like NE? Even if you were raving?

Blade Runner suffers from the same problems that Legend does...just to a lesser extent...

In a way all movie adoptions suffer from the same problem to some extent.
