Anyone want to help my friend out? She's doing a project for school where she's testing how much Americans know about France and French culture.

She's having trouble getting responses from people in the 40-50 age range, but any additional responses would be fantastic. You're supposed to be from America to take the survey, but you could just sort of pretend that you are and take it anyway if you wanted to.

Just took it, but I've never been there...so I didn't have much to actually contribute...

i took it. i would love to visit France. (my people came from there however long ago.)

I took it too. I have spent a lot of time in Paris and a surrounding city of Massey. Managed a french engineering team based in Massey in 1999. Was an interesting time.

I took it, but to be honest, I'm not sure what your friend is expecting.

The "adjective to describe French men/women" is opening the door to all sorts of stereotypes. I put, "I haven't met enough of them to form an opinion", which is really the only answer you can give unless you've lived there.

I went with the stereotypes, as I assume this is pretty much what she is researching...

I didn't answer the sterotypes questions either.

Took it, although Bilbao Spain is the closest I've come to France.

Paris is a beautiful city (at least when I stayed there.) But the cabs are small and the French generally rude. (A French collegue out of the London office of my company said that it was not personal against americans - at least then - the French are rude to each other!)

My favorite was London and having a company provided flat in Hamstead in 1998. Nice BIG cabs; cab drivers ALL speak english; and they all know how to get where you are going - they study 3 yrs before they are licensed!)

I answered as honestly as I could, and was stumped about the technology part until I remembered about

I've only been to France once, and only stayed for 5 days, so I don't know if that will help your friend or not. And I did not like the better/worse question. I wanted another option.

You have no idea how difficult it was to NOT put down as France's exports: French Toast, French Fries, and Double Entendres.

I had to use my knowledge of stereotypes with this one, I put down some sort of wine (no idea what kind) and some kind of cheese (not sure what kind, but probably very smelly)

I simply put "wine," "cheese" and "Peugeot."

I wanted to do this, considering Australia is just about the 51st state of the USA now, thanks to John bloody Howard...

my three exports would have been Moet, Chanel and the Statue of Liberty...
