What colour is the First's hair?

"The first to reach his side was a woman. She was starkly beautiful, with hair like fine-spun iron. . ."
TWL, pg.442
Now is SRD referring to the texture of the First's hair or its colour?
Thank you in advance.

I've always pictured her hair as being dark gray.

I always thought it was both.

I admit that I always picture the first as a blonde - but I have to agree, "like fine spun iron" probably means that her hair is dark, black or gray, and probably kinky or wavy at that.
It seems improbably that he'd be referring to texture. She had just walked up. It be incongruous to be describing what her hair feels like at that moment.

Could have been anodized but then the spun iron would have not been seen and it could have been a bright blue, red, green, orange..
Sorta defeats the purpose of the description anyways..
Nevermind..
I always pictured the First with Golden hair for some reason. But the
"like fine spun iron" might lead me to believe that she could have been
a rustic redhead. I mean all that saltwater will make the "like fine spun iron" rust a lot faster.
But if she ever went thruogh a caamora, that could have prevented any effect from the saltwater.
and....

Okay, that is awesome. I got a laugh.

If you can admit that you saw her as a blonde, then I have a big confession as well: I saw her as...the She-Hulk. Or that green-skinned gal from Star Trek - just a lot bigger. That was the only way for me to picture hair "like fine spun iron."
Don't tell SRD. If you do, I'll completely deny this post.

I have always pictured her with black hair. I can't picture someone as 'hard' as her with blonde hair.

I've always pictured the First as a blonde too. A blonde with braids. Sort of a female Mighty Thor of the comics.
