KEVIN'S WATCH ANTHOLOGY: 2009

Okay ladies and gentlemen. I've updated the Contributors guide to reflect conditions for 2009.
We have a submission deadline of September 28th. (Aliantha please let me know if this deadline gives you enough time to do your thing so that it's possible to have the finished book available by the first week of December.)

Let's get busy.

I need to hear from the submission committee first thing to get an idea where we stand with the existing submissions and who will be volunteering this time. I know we have dAN but I'm guessing he needs help.

Stop handing me straight lines, TOM.

Since I've not edited the anthology before, I have no idea whether that's enough time. But we'll make it work somehow.

Let me know if you need for me to resubmit my '08 submission. Thanks!

What other kind of lines are there? Luci's talked about being on the submission committee, she'd be a great help. Cov has been posting here, so I'm assuming he's still available, but I haven't seen or heard from Murrin in forever. As for the old submissions, I think they're still on the g-mail site; if not, I have them on my PC, still unread.

My second submission has been sent, so you guys can accept (or reject) either Coronation Day or Red. Thankies.

I thought this thing was dead, so I stopped paying attention. I thought it was odd Foul suddenly started submitting stuff again (never removed it from my GMail notifier), so I popped into the forum for once...

I simply love stories and wish everyone who has an idea would write it up and submit. I strongly believe the more choices the selection committee has, the better the anthology will be. Hence my behind the scenes encouragement of anyone who tells me they're planning on submitting.

Whereas you sir, Mr. Doubting Thomas, needed a teeny bit more pushing than most. Just keep in mind that competition will be fierce with the quality of writing Watchers submit. In no way is acceptance or rejection a judgment of you, and I hope any submitters who may be rejected build upon what they started for future consideration and are not disheartened.

I will admit to having favorites I can't wait to see their pieces in print though...

Good luck to all of you!

Of course, if you do get rejected, you can always self-publish it. I've just bought the three other anthologies in hopes of getting inspired. :D

I'm seeing 11 submission emails in the gmail account. If memory serves, I'm supposed to ignore Hyperception's submission, and probably the 2 Lord Foul submissions from last year, which leaves 8. I'm not seeing Loremaster's submission yet, though.

Just want to make sure you got mine...also, how many do we need?

How many submissions have we had in past years? Just curious...

I think we were still working on our screening process with the first book. (I hold up my story's inclusion as evidence) I think there were very few rejections that year. We had 12 stories accepted. I'd have to think a bit about the other ones. :-)

I'd like for there to be 12 to 15 stories/poems to choose from by the deadline. I'm told we have 8 at the moment and I know for certain there are a few being worked on. I think we'll be fine to go ahead with the book.

I urge all of you who are considering submitting something to do so. Not only is it the right thing to do (how could submitting to one as magnificent as I be wrong?), but also it'll keep aTOMiC from sending the submission team any more Flower of Doom chapters.........
