Didn't click on the link to the story, so I don't know if it's in there, but when Cronkite stepped down from anchoring CBS news, someone said that it was like George Washington leaving the dollar bill.

Now that he's passed on, Cronkite's face deserves to be on a coin, at least.

I mostly remember Cronkite for the Moon Landing coverage (I find his passing during the 40th anniversary of that mission interesting) and for the short lived You are There series in the 1970s.

He was always a class act.
