This is my first posting. I joined to ask you a question for a friend and to get to know other SRD fans. My question is - my friend is sight impaired and would like large type book so he can read it. Is one (or has one) been available for Covenant series?

Maybe one of the fantastic audio books might help your friend?

If the Book were transferred to CD. (maybe a pdf format) Then the font could be changed or using the OS features the print could be larger. But that means reading it by computer.

Thanks for the info. Is the next two books as good as the 1st 6 books?

There are many conflicting answers to that question. Some love the new books, while others find them disappointing.

someone mentioned audio books and scott brick has recently read the first three...there are a few out there that have been read by a woman..(pretty scratchy sounding) and another set by a man (sounds ok but no Scott Brick)

about the last two books being as good as the first 6? thats a matter of opinion but for me... Runes was a good book.. I loved it because my favorite series ever was being continued... but did not have the same feeling as the first six when i originally read them as a kid...

as for fatal Revenant, I have been using massive amounts of willpower to hold off until #9 AGATE arrives.. I like having a back up so i dont feel im pulling my hair out waiting for the next three years to read #10 TFD its like having a carton of smokes on top of your fridge while your trying to quit. knowing its there makes it easier somehow :)

That's almost exactly how my friend quit smoking! His idea was that if he was allowed to smoke in the future (like when he's DD-ing) then it wouldn't be so hard on him! But I digress...

As far as whether or not one will enjoy the Last Chronicles, I would say the following:

1)Read Donaldson's other books. His writing style for the Last Chronicles is more akin to Mordant's Need and The Gap Cycle then the previous Chronicles, so if you enjoy these series, there's a good chance you'll enjoy the Last Chronicles or at least have the faith in Donaldson because you'll know how he works...

2)If you have trouble with his other works, that's all right, I would recommend waiting until the entire series is out then, since Donaldson is a very all or nothing writer when it comes to a series. By the end, you usually agree that he couldn't have written it any other way, or that it was a waste of time. Waiting until the first week of Nov, 2013 would allow you to seek many opinions about it, since nearly everyone here will have read them ;)

They might be available on Kindle. Doesn't that have options for magnification & such?
