Hi, hey if the illustration of Lord Shetra in Korik's mission was accurate then I have to ask, is it me or is she really hot!? For some reason I pictured her and her hubby Lord Hyrim/um? as being fairly seasoned...

I pictured them as being extra spicy, with a hint of lime.

While Hyrim accompanied Shetra on the mission to Seareach, her husband was Verement, who made possible the escape of the Warward at Doom's retreat.

Shetra was a tall woman with short iron-gray hair, who usually wore a fairly severe expression. While not unattractive, "really hot" is not a description frequently ascribed to her.

:haha:
Perhaps SRD is a Sting fan. Regardless, I assume that her spells last a really long time...

I think surreal is saying Shetra is really hot ... in this picture.

She doesn't do it for me ... but I would agree the artist hotted her up some.

Interesting...none of my copies have illustrations, so I had not seen this image before.

Yes, that artist clearly took liberties with the Shetra that SRD described. The hair is neither cropped short nor iron-gray, the features are nothing like "...the face of a hawk -- keen of nose and eye, lean of cheek."

Also, what's with that staff?

Holy crap! That second version looks like a Marine! Which is actually pretty much how I imagined Shetra. Both of them are very good work. Personally, I favour the first one though.

:shudder:

Donaldson never said she looked like a marine. And "hair cropped short", when used to describe a woman in medieval times, doesn't necessarilly mean buzz cut - it could mean anything from shoulder-length up.

True, but 'cropped short' combined with her demeanour always suggested Marine to me. Besides, who said anything about medieval times? Fictitious land, fictitious rules. :P
