Another bargain find, free food from Schwan's

Came across another one...

Schwan's is running a promotion from 08/01 to 09/30/09 where you can choose any item $10 or less and it will be delivered free to your door. Valid for new residential/household customers (i.e. have not purchased any products from them within the past 14 weeks). Only valid for the first 500,000. I ordered Stuffed Pasta Shells which were $9.99 and I didn't pay tax or the $1 delivery fee. I stay home all day, so I said I was available to have it delivered anytime this coming Wednesday. I was also given the option of having it delivered anytime this coming Friday, or Wednesday the 12th.

I choose the option to pay upon delivery to my door, since there is no charge. I did not give them any credit or debit card number.

Click Here to be taken to the offer. Browse through the offerings, proceed to checkout, register, complete checkout and the promotion is automatically applied.

How did you avoid paying the tax? I am going to owe 4 cents on my $9.99 purchase when this is delivered...

Not that I mind, I am just curious how you got around that option.

8 quarter pound beef patties are on the way and delivering on Friday.

Great link!!!

State of Florida has no sales tax on food, as long as it is not hot and ready-to-eat.

I tried it in NYC at my job but they charged $17 delivery. So I made the same order in NJ and GOT it!! same item free. Frozen oatmeal cookie dough. Now the trick will be to keep the dog from eating it if they leave it at the door. :D

Thanks, Menolly! (and my fat dog thanks you)

Man, that stinks.
Who better to deliver to for free than the residents of where you work? Especially since they accept EBT, or at least do according to their website...

Yay!
Did you have to pay the $4.99 for the freezer bag for them to leave it at the door?

I'm sure the folks who really live at your made-up address would be grateful for the free food.... ;)

:(

Is it possible they left it at your door, and someone else took it? Not that I am suggesting that; I have heard from others where I first read of the offer who say they never got their delivery either.

I would contact them now though, and arrange delivery for after you get back. If they say they can't accommodate you, let them know you're own word of mouth regarding their service in the future would not be very complimentary...
