Not bad...not bad at all...

Here another contribution to the topic...it really kicks in right past the 3 minute mark.

As Jerelak said, not bad, not bad . . .

. . . now, for some Victor Wooten! I’ve seen lots of Wooten base solos, but this one even surprised me:

The Amazing Grace solo from the DVD Live from the Quick:

And a longer solo that demostrates a lot of different techniques (I highly recommend seconds 1:43-1:51 :D ).

And something a little funkier (takes about 1.5 minutes to get started):

And a live solo where he broke a string (how the f*ck do you break a bass string?) and kept playing for 8 minutes--that's improvisation! If this is what he can do with 3 strings, I'd really love to see what he can do with one!

String breaks around 2:47, he hesitates for a second, then kicks the shit out of it some more.

Don't be so hard on an old man who drowned his last gray matter in a bottle of booze years ago ...

Hehe...I love when people bump stuff I'm interested in that I never saw!

I actually have broken a number of bass strings...though, for full disclosure, I should mention that when I did so I was "picking" with a Dremel w/wire brush, and more "sound effect" than "playing." [I think I must have said somewhere that, as a bass player, I'm not much].
