I don't suppose there are any Pixie fans out there planning to go to see them at Festival Hall in Melbourne, Australia, on March 20, 2010?

Tickets go on sale September 18 and I am definitely going. The problem is, I don't know anyone else who is - no-one I know really likes The Pixies (the philistines.)

So hey, this is pretty much a long shot, but it never hurts to ask, right?

If I happen to be in Australia in March, I'll go.

I'm not familiar enough with the Pixies to give a definite answer. Do you think they'll sell out straight away?

I'd expect so. As far as I know they're only doing one concert, and I don't think their fan base is large enough to warrant a second show.

I've been told they're an 'acquired taste', StevieG - me, I loved 'em the moment I first heard them back in the late 80's. If you've seen the movie Fight Club, the song that plays at the end of the movie is the Pixies. (Where Is My Mind?) Here's a couple of links to two of their more 'popular' songs:

March is a great time to visit Oz, CovenantJr. Just sayin'...

Definitely worth checking out - EVEN ON YOUR OWN, Earthfriend! I saw them live in Belfast back in 1989 or was it 90? They blew my little teenage mind!

Saw them again on their first comeback tour at V-festival (2004?), and on their second at the Roundhouse, London(2007?).

They are fabulous live, even as oldies.

Agreed. I saw them in 2007, which was the first time they'd ever toured Australia, and they were brilliant. He can still scream with the best of them, can ol' Black Francis.

Yeah, I'm certainly going, on my own if needs be. Once the music starts, all will be one, anyway.
