Yup. Best place on the intarwebz, hands down.

I don't mind a beer now and again, but Guinness is a bit too too for me. I like Mexican beers generally, mainly because I can put a slice of lime in 'em -- the lime seems to cut whatever it is about beer that makes me shudder.

I picked up some Woodchuck limited-edition Fall Cider at the beach last weekend. It's quite tasty.

I've been trying to find some hard cider ever since Stone and Av mentioned it to me a couple of years ago. I'm starting to see some locally, but none of the brands Stone has recommended to me; only American ones. Do you recommend Woodchuck for a novice hard cider experience, ali? Or should I hold out for the imports that were recommended, in case I ever come across them?

Don't drink it often, but can be nice on occasion. I prefer it cold though, no doubt to Malik's disgust.

I love it!

And I'll be drinking one or two or sixteen beers tomorrow while watching the AFL (Aussie Football) Grand Final. Might sneak a Guinness in for dinner...

Fifth. And Menolly, I find that Woodchuck is pretty good...especially when you're plastered, though to be fair, I haven't tried the kind that aliantha has spoken of... it's definately a step above beer, but not nearly as good as straight vodka

To be fair, I have to admit I enjoyed the bottle of homebrew Malik sent me. But that was unlike anything else I ever had. Way better than Guiness or any other beers I have tried.

Ooo, and I do like a straight ice cold vodka served in a cucumber shot. But, I have always envied beer drinkers at picnics and sporting events. You don't often find hard liquor at a picnic, and wine is such a fuss sometimes. If I find I like hard cider, I could see it being my beverage of choice at a game or picnic.

The first time I ever had hard cider was on draft at a Celtic festival. The day was hot, the pipes were skirling, the drink in my hand went down like apple cider. I was weaving in no time.

If you like apple cider, Menolly, you will like this stuff. Woodchuck seems to be what I can get here locally, altho I haven't made a huge study of it. I don't remember what brand they had on tap at the festival.

I do like apple cider, ali. Hard cider is slightly carbonated as well, right? Sort of like Martinelli's Sparkling Cider, but with an alcoholic content? I think I would really like that a lot.
