I've been playing it for the 24 hours or so. It is a very interesting game, though there are some serious control and letter recognition issues.

I agree with the control problems. But I think it's sheer brilliance the amount of *stuff* they programmed into the game. Something like 20,000 different things you can summon? Amazing.

Yeeeees. That is impressive. So far, I pretty much just use the same stuff over and over though. Yes, I can summon Satan, but to what end?

^ You can summon Cthulhu and other Lovecraftian baddies as well. Unfortunately theres no in-game insanity system, and they tend to lose to the Village People.

I think that this just made it onto my 8 yr old's Santa list...I shown him some clips on youtube and he is seriously now wanting this game.

(and dad thinks it's gonna be pretty cool, too!)

Again, I can use my imagination and create stuff, but pretty much just to see if it works. Most of them can't actually be used for anything.

The Zero Punctuation review of the game said he pretty much got through the whole game with helicopters (with length of rope), boulders, and Cthulu.

I haven't had any probs with letter recognition. Far less than in earlier DS games (# recognition in brain age made me look older than I was, no fair!!)

But I agree w/ control recognition, doing anything involving projectiles or walking on anything can be quite bothersome. They should have let you move Maxwell w/ the D-pad.

The best thing is to use item interactions to do stuff. Instead of pulling something yourself, tie it to an elephant and use a mouse to scare the elephant away!

Also, this game is a serious piece of racist propaganda.

Another great thing to do is to put a bomb next to a pyro (btw pyro = terrorist). The pyro will light the bomb on fire, then cower in fear as the bomb blows up. Silly pyros, blowing themselves up w/ their love of fire...

Also, try "teleporter" thee next time you play. Srz awesomeness. And for that matter, try "virgin".

Honestly, helicopters aren't so great sometimes b/c they take up so much of the screen. Sometimes jetpacks and wings (despite limited flight time) are much better.

Toasters are pretty useful, since they can take out any number of aquatic creatures at once, instead of risking defeat.

Hmm. I find P particularly bothersome. It almost always takes me three to five attempts to draw a P.
