Colin R. Grimes: Hello, Stephen!
I was wondering if you were aware that Amazon.com.uk is currently taking orders for "Against All Things Ending" with a listed release date of October 28, 2010. Has Orion/Gollancz declared "delivery and acceptance"? Is someone just hopefully jumping the gun? Or are the Brits just that much faster at recognizing your genius? <smile>
No, I wasn't aware. My publishers never tell me such things. The Brits have definitely jumped the gun. But not without reason: they've seen (and liked) the second draft; they know when I've promised to deliver the third draft; and they know from experience that I'm a man of my word. So they are not being irrationally optimistic.

Great! Only a year or so to go then! Can't they just release it as is? I'm willing to pay double!

Hmm...I'm in Ohio... that's close to Canada... and if I recall correctly, I think the US has recieved the publications before the UK... I could try to illegally smuggle a copy into Canada

I can see it now...
"Whatcha in for?"
"Murdered 15 nuns and orphans. How bout you?"
"Smuggled a book into Canada"
"Wow, you're hardcore!"

Wow, thanks for the link!
We did a few Alices Restaurant references (strictly from memory) in last week's Win Wayfriend's Money, but I had not heard the Massacre, nor seen movie clips in over 20 years. My wife (of 22 years next spring) had heard me do bits from it (too many times!), but professed that this was the first time she'd actually seen/heard the source material.
Anyway, Orlion, hope you do not get caught. It would be sad to later be found to be not moral enough to join the Army (etc...listen to the routine) after being convicted as a book-smuggler.
No good deed goes unpunished...

You're welcome, but
*tsk*
I posted links to all the parts of the movie I could find in the
Anti-war Song thread in Vespers...
Here's the
follow-up post with more of the links. I'm hoping to find the rest for the entire movie for Thanksgiving. I've never seen it myself.

So you did. Actually, I was surprised you didn't cite a back-to-back set list of "The Box" and "One Tin Soldier" there.

Has anyone else done that?

Not as yet. It's sort of a signature piece for you. Go for it!
{edit: I see that you already have done so.}
(time to negotiate an end to this thread hijacking...)
