I guess I SHOULD say SOMEthing

I'm probably the only Yankees fan here, and I'm not particularly rabid. Heh. And, despite all the legitimate complaints about their salary (although one team or another has to have the highest salary), there's nothing I can do about it. I'm a Yankees fan. Grew up watching them with my dad. Graig Nettles is still my favorite player ever. Cheered when Nettles, Munson, and Mercer all hit 20 homers in one season. Watched Guidry with awe. Sparky Lyle was a closer who might pitch the last 4 or 5 innings of a game. And on and on.

Anyway, nice to see them back on top again! :D Some of them have been on the team for many years, some are younger guys who have amazed right from the beginning. A couple are greats of the sport who deserve a ring, but weren't going to get it where they were. (Ichiro deserves one.) So I'm giving a big
CHEER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heh. The Yankees won the World Series last night. My long-winded post was an attempt to prevent a hundred "I hate the Yankees" posts, and just let me smile about it for a few days.

I was rooting for the Yankees. George Steinbrenner has been very good to Tampa, and the Yankees beat the bastards that ruined the Ray's dream season last year....

I was cheering for the Yanks for the *first time in my life* ... as a Dodger fan I just couldn't get behind the Phils, even though the Yankees are like our all-time nemesis.

It was kinda like cheering for Lord Foul

Congratulations are in order, however it was a hard watch for a life long Indians fan.

No wonder you're Mr. Broken, a Cleveland sports fan.

Sounds like a frat party! :P All my relatives in NY are happy, I'm a disgruntled Angels fan, so not a very BEEG Yankee fan (he said nicely). I paid no attention to the series.

The most remarkable part of the Yankees' entire season was beating the Angels in the ALCS! I sure didn't see that coming! 8O

Well, I guess this was also noteworthy.

Yankees Suck!!!

A-Fraud... how's that contract working out for ya?

I'd say it's working out amazingly well for him. I'm not getting paid $29million to not hit the ball!

That was particularly embarrassing tho. They never led at any point in the series. That's pretty amazing.
