Hi all. Good to be back after a stint away. Just about to finish LFB for about the one hundreth time. Does anyone know what happened to Garth, leader of the Warward? He seemed to disappear just before the Quest for the SOL had begun.

Cheers :D

Not told

As the lore of the Sword does not preserve it's followers, (TIW), maybe he retired and died between the quest for SOL left and TC's second summoning.

if he was a warmark it could be that he was one of the ones who never returned from the few attempts to Reach Coercri. i cant remember how many Eomen it mentions them sending. at least two. its possible they would send their warmark to find out about the giants but i would think they would have sent Quan since he was a second in command during LFB, I cant remember if Garth shared the quest for the SOL. I do remember Quan, who at the time was a Lieutenant or second in command...

I hear he retired. Down in Florida. Catching some early bird specials with Prothall. Vice President of Del Boca Vista (Phase 2).

I thought he had quit fighting to become some sort of country crooner. Got filthy rich doing it, too, I think. How? One word: croyel!

Warmark Garth stayed behind in Revelstone, and so neither he nor the Warward were mentioned again in LFB, as it ended when the Quest was still on Mt Thunder.

40 years later, Hile Troy is the Warmark. No mention of what happened to Garth, nor anything about who Troy replaced.

No mention of him going to Coercri, nor does it make sense that the Warmark of the Warward would take up that task, if you ask me.

Thorhammerhand has it right, I guess. He just retired during the forty years between LFB and TIW.

Old Warmarks don't die, after all. They just fade away ...

Wayfriend, you must have a mind like an encyclopedia my friend when it comes to Covenant related facts. I never fails to amaze me how you are able to pull up all the relevant quotations to settle a chronicles related question by reference back to the scource. You are undoubtedly to the esoteric side of this site, what Hue and Blackhawk are to the visual. Well done to the three of you!

Quaan was Warmark before Hile Troy and became so again after he perished. There's a scene where Troy is talking to Quaan and Quaan replies, "I felt the dour hand of your skill when you won the Warward from me ..."

As the first Warward commanding officer to have scene battle in the war against Foul, it doesn't surprise me that he was Warmark.

Party on, Warmark Garth.
