Sorry to see she passed. She was actually a very good actor that had a big future as she matured. I think the actors community is sorely missing young quality female actors.

yah, sad.
Although personally I never thought much of her 'dramatic' acting (really forced), I thought she was a gifted comedic actor. So few funny women.

She was the voice of Luanne on King of the Hill, and was in Girl Interrupted, Clueless, Just Married and 8 Mile, for starters.......

I thought she was rather good in Spun. A real crackhead. I also liked her in 8 mile and Girl Interupted (especially Girl).

The only characters I remember from Spun were Leguizamo's, Rourke's, and Schwartzman's. I also don't remember her performances in 8 Mile or Girl, Interrupted. I remember her from Clueless, though.

By all accounts a nice woman, though. And my age. That sucks.

Oh, the one that hid the rotisserie chickens under her bed? I remember her now.

I should mention at this point that my wife made me see this movie.

Yes, it's tragic for anyone so young to pass on.

And it's especially tragic because she showed real promise. Don't get me wrong, I have no problems looking at the likes of Megan Fox, I just can't stand to watch her try to act.

One of Tam's favorite movies, I like the second half, is Michael Douglas' Don't Say a Word. Made pre-9/11 so you see the World Trade Center. We were both trying to rack our minds about who plays the crazy girl. When we saw the obit, we said OMG it's Brittany Murphy!!! 8O

Very sad, enjoyed her in all the movies mentioned, aside from Don't say a word, which I haven't seen.
