Many Movies...

I discovered imdb.com one day playing around on the net at work, standing in a kiosk in the mall. That was about seven years ago.
Three days ago I discovered that I had rated over 900 films...and now having looked year by year back to '96 at this point it's at 1200.
That's about three months of my life. Damn.
Anyone else spent a ridiculous time in front of the tube watching two hour long soap operas?

I shudder to think how many films I've seen. Most of those would have been in my early twenties. From my mid twenties, I've rarely had the time to see that many, but I do tend to binge on film watching once a year.
I knew a guy who calculated that he'd seen 4000 films, and many of those would have been watched numerous times. I don't think I've seen that many, but I don't really want to know for sure...

Now calculate how many of those movies youve seen more than once.

I'm pretty sure it's in the thousands. I was a film major in college, and I worked at a video store years ago.

Film is only surpassed by books as one of the cheapest forms of edifying entertainment. Which is to say, that I don't think I can count how many movies I've watched so far in my life time. But not much of it was wasted time outside of '10,000 B.C.' and Oliver Stone's 'Alexander'. Netflix has been a boon when it fits into the budget.

Five hundred movies rated on Netflix, another 200 in my disc queue, another 200 in my instant queue, plus having owned over 300, not to mention all the ones I've seen but never rated...
Yeah, movies are cheap entertainment
