the absolute power of Q.A.S.

Normally I would post these in the This I Believe thread in The Close but I thought this deserved a special mention............
This I Believe
I believe in the power of Quantum Adolescent Stupidity. Let me explain. One teenager alone can display significant quantities of stupidity. Two teenagers acting in concert are twice as stupid. Three teenagers together are four times as stupid, and a gang of four teenagers is eight times as stupid as a solitary adolescent.
If you leave a large group of teenagers unsupervised in your home for any length of time, the quantity of stupidity released into the universe is absolutely staggering.
I also believe in Nagel’s Law. Nagel’s Law states: “Each generation finds a form of music with which to offend its elders.”
Nagel’s Law helps me understand why the musical choices of my your drove my parents crazy. It helps me to find a meaning and purpose of the techno-dreck my son plays. It is comforting to know that I do not have to find a way to retaliate for the relentless inanity of techno. My grandchildren will do that for me.
It is good to have a solid foundation of belief. As the great American moral philosopher W. C. Fields once said: “A man’s got to believe in something. I believe I’ll have another beer.”
