ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, ok.
If I wasn't banned from discussing new icons I would offer to "do up" the ring. But I am forbidden.....................

on several occasions I have been told NOT to discuss the emoticons. There seems to be a emoticon history not shared with the newbies. I wanted a turkey emoticon and someone (I won't say who) but one of those folks dressed in pretty colors, nearly stuffed the turkey in my virtual mouth.
so I won't be able to beef up (there's that beef word again) the white gold. (it sure does need a good polishing ) or maybe it's just so gray because Covenant is out and about on a book tour and left it with Linden.

That's the strangest story I've heard in a while. Go ahead and discuss. Or, better yet, polish it up, and show us what you got!

See, lorin, a few Christmases ago, Vain replaced ALL the emoticons with Santa emoticons. Some folks here really, really, really hated those little red hats on the smileys. That's why, when you suggested the turkey emoticons, you got such a strong reaction.
I don't think anybody would object to you tinkering with the white gold ring. Just don't put a Santa hat on it.

Tinkering with the white gold?
The Arch is liable to fall in the process. Hope KW is insured.

Insuredly...
Lorin, consider this another vote in favor of showing us your ring-polishing handiwork. Bring it!

Oh...
I forgot about that discussion.
Yes, I seem to remember a certain admin's reaction when turkey Thanksgiving smileys were suggested. But you should not take such a reaction personally, as aliantha explained.

Agreed.
I am unsure how uploading smileys works though. For some reason I think they are purchased in packages; I don't know if a single custom smiley here and there can be added. However, custom smileys can always be put on one's graphic hosting site and used in posts via [img] tags. I'm not an admin nor privy to how that works. I agree with everyone else: go for it.

Really?? I didn't know anybody had a problem with the Santas. I thought they were a riot!

Kinda missed them this year.

No Santa smileys. Ever again.
Discuss the rest as much as you like though. Getting them up could be an issue though. Jay might know how to do it.
I think at the very least you have to ftp the file into the folder on the server, since there's no "upload" option for them behind the scenes. Once they're ftp'd in, then they can easily be added to the board.
Make them, then bug Jay until he adds them.
I never told you that.

As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

I can glide a ways, dunno about flying.
