THE TICK: Misunderstood genius or just all around good guy?

My all time favorite animated series after The Simpsons and Futurama has to be The Tick. I watched almost every episode first run and I've purchased the entire catalog of tape copies on ebay. I collected a large number of the action figures. I have the giant size talking tick. "Naughty spawn you face the Tick" "SPOON!"
It was one of the darkest days in my life when the final episode aired. (Of course I had no idea at the time that I was watching the final episode but you get the idea). Now I only have my jealously guarded video archive to keep me from going over the edge.
I was pretty excited when the Tick live action series began, but quicky became annoyed at the lack of evil trouncing. It tended to live up to its billing. "Its like Seinfeld with superheros." Patrick Warburton's Tick had worn thin with me by the final episode. I wanted it to be more but it just wasn't to be. Boo hoo.

I LOVE the Tick. One of the greatest works of art ever. Awesome cartoon show. Have many on tape. And yeah, the live-action was good. But I think it lacked a lot of classic Tick bad-guy bashing because of the fact it was during prime time, and so they were probably pressured to have more prime time related stuff, and less classic goofy Tick stuff.-jay

I can't agree more. I have several live action episodes on tape except the one I think I would have liked the best. The Tick vs. Justice. I liked the Destroyo character. Perhaps they'll release the whole shooting match on dvd one day.

The TICK? He's just a cheap New England Comics copy of myself. Well, without my looks, charm and intelligence, of course.

I aree with the intelligence. The Tick is just a misunderstood genius that happened to escape from a mental hospital. Other than that you are both pretty much the same character.

Oh yeah? Well, you're just a cheap imitation of an Oz character.

You're not the sharpest knife in the cupboard, either.

That's okay. I don't keep my knives in the cupboard.
Certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed.

When I get some time and some motivation.
