Rusmeister going on furlough

Hi all,
I want to say a big thank you to providing me a forum (and even responding to my posts!). Being in a decisive minority in terms of worldview, I do appreciate being taken seriously, and not as a mindless bigot/oppressive fundamentalist jerk/whatever.

For the next couple of months, I plan to limit myself to occasional lurking, and will only respond to anything if the law of charity seems more important than the need to set aside posting (which, for me here, is actually fun).

I think a more of a lot of you than a lot of you may think! (All of the hobbits are scratching their heads trying to figure out what this works out to...)
Above all, Fist, a true philosopher - a lover of wisdom - who I hope (in the best sense that you will find it! But yes, Av, Xar, all of you whacky unbelievers! I take comfort and hope in the fact that Covenant really did abandon his Unbelief, or at least see it as irrelevant, and that what we do think and do matters, whether it seems real or not.

I ask you all to forgive me if I have stepped on your toes (may the hair on them never fall off!). I do see myself as somewhat elephantine, and quite capable of unintended offense. I may insist on the objectivity of our universe and existence and its purpose, and for that do not apologize, but my approach and delivery in the cybersphere have no doubt at times been lacking., and humbly ask your forgiveness.

I'll still be on this weekend. After that, I'll see you on the other side of Pascha! (And do hope to a much broader meaning of that sentence - to merry meetings on the other side, as I already hope regarding Tracie.) And because I am an incorrigible dogmat,
If Christ is risen, nothing else matters.
If Christ is not risen, nothing else matters.
:D

Haha, you're always welcome Rus. Just because we don't agree with you doesn't mean you shouldn't post. ;)

I'm off again!
(It's an annual thing, you see.)
I ask everyone's forgiveness for offenses (both real and imagined).
For my part, hold no grudges on anyone.

For people who want to know what the heck this "Lent" thing is, and get a short and coherent understanding, check out this link:

www.schmemann.org/byhim/lent.html

(Warning: there may be differences from the experience of Catholics or ex-Catholics here.)
We've just finished Forgiveness Sunday (see #4 in the first section); next is the Canon of St Andrew of Crete.

My favorite is St Mary of Egypt. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is!

God bless you all!

(Disclaimer: Belief in God is not required to receive His blessing - but is strongly recommended.) :)

Here's hoping my wife doesn't give me up for Lent.

Have a great and quiet holiday from KW.

Dear Rusmeister

I have two treasured works of art made by Intes and Intes-Micro of Russia.

And I really dig "Pictures from an Exhibition" Картинки с выставки – Воспоминание о Викторе Гартмане

May this bring joy to your heart.
