That thing's practially all hilt and no blade. What about the armrests with a knife between each finger? Etc.
The throne's not just meant to be imposing to look at, it's supposed to be dangerous to sit in.

My thought is that the actors were not excited by the prospect of sitting on a prop that was likely to result in them requireing stiches.
