64 Great Foods in 64 College Towns

I vehemently disagree with their Gator Town pick.
The Flying Biscuit's food isn't only not that great, it is an Atlanta institution only recently franchised here. There are so many local, much better places to eat here in Gator Town.

However, I am curious how their other choices rank with locals, or at least Watchers who may have eaten at one of the listed places, overall.

danlo, any input regarding the choice of Green Chile Stew from Model Pharmacy? Don, how about the selection of Red velvet cake from Litton's? Anyone else eat at any of these places?

The Syracuse pick is ordinary...nothing there can't be found anywhere..
The Cornell one is ok, just because it's not special recipe but better than average, but hellacious fun can be had nearby...

The Dahlia Bakery is wonderful, as are all of Tom Douglas' many eateries...but with all the outstanding cusine available in Seattle, what is up with picking a Coconut Cream Pie?

I've heard a lot of good things about Casa Nueva, but I've never been there. Pass by it all the time, but why go to a Mexican restaurant when just down the street I can get a McMama from Big Mama's Burritos? It's also across from a joint that sells gyros that I think are good.... but then again, I've never eaten there sober

They missed pretty bad with Kentucky, Louisville, Vandy, and Tennessee. There are a few others I question, but these are towns I am intimate with. Somebody just threw this list together quickly.

Litton's is overrated. We never go there.

Oh yeah, I left out El Paso. I wouldn't say I was intimate with the cuisine here. I've been here since the first of the year and I'm leaving this weekend. Never tired Kiki's- but cheese fries, c'mon. There is a lot of great food here, but nothing I've had outshines the competition any more than the chile rellenos burritos at the little Phillips 66 station on Montana Ave. Yes, it's a gas station. And the burritos are 3 bucks and they are not huge. I'd feel better about them if I could get 2 for 5. But we can't stop easting them. They are lunch at least 3 times a week.

Here is my choice of best local, distinct food in Gator Town.

Kr-shna Lunch

38 years ongoing, and the food is as good as ever.

I had listed regular local restaurants in the comments section of the article, but others who have spent more time on campus reminded me of Kr-shna Lunch, and I have to say I agree with them.

The more I read the comments from others on the article, the more I am coming to agree with y'all. A shame. If they had taken the time to ask members of the forum from the listed communities (as the author of the article said she should have done with me for Gator Town, in response to my initial shocked comment on the Gator Town selection) I am sure they would have gotten a much better list.

Another vote for "this list was thrown together". I've spent a fair bit of time in Indianapolis and have never heard of the Mug & Bun. And c'mon, all the swell expense-account places where one can eat in DC, and they pick a gelato place on Wisconsin Ave NW?
