Unfortunately, I read your spoiler, and now I'm not sure I want to read it. (I spoilered it so I wouldn't be the one to spoil it for someone else. I do think the mods, or HC, ought to do that courtesy.)

Yes I really enjoyed Riddle-Master. I should have read it long ago. It's not like much other fantasy, very unique and a good story all around. The only negative thing I will say about it is
Spoiler
the plot is structured like Clive Barker's "Great And Secret Show" and by that I mean the villain turns out to not be the "real" villain in the end.
I'm not really a fan of that storyline trope.

First, OMG, if you haven't read Riddlemaster, go read it right now.

Second, that wasn't a spoiler, because frankly I have no idea how anyone can think that. But I won't argue the point here.

I too have not read Riddlemaster but mmm... have the same concern after reading the non spoilered spoiler lol 😬 but having said that I suppose I could simply disregard it and see for myself

I will look for it ... good recommendations are of great value ... when sifting through shelves upon shelves in the fantasy section

:LOLS:

I will!
Spoiler
Ghisteslwchlohm was set up as the big bad, was he not? And in the end, he turned out to be just a red herring, as the Shapechangers and others ended up being the real threat.

HG, you are just wrong. It's only my opinion, which I can back up. But, yeah: wrong.

Great duology. Changed the way I look at epic fantasy. Not many books change your outlook of an entire genre.

The only negative I have to say about those books is
Spoiler
just kidding, I don't have a single negative thing to say about the Sarantine Mosaic. But at least I used spoiler tags this time, amirite?!
.

Argue with me if you dare.
