Le Gone Shames

So its all but certain now that Lebron James is going to bolt from the city of Cleveland to seek his destiny whatever that may be elsewhere. Myself I stand in the minority of Cleveland sports fans when I say that Im glad he's going. The majority would beg him to stay, and have appealed to him in every way they could conceive, and in the end they will see that he never cared about them, or his team, or his city. There are those who will say that this is no different than any other free agent moving on, and those people are wrong. Being a home town boy Lebron knows how much the people of Cleveland need something , anything to be proud of. He knows that a rather large part of the city's economy is based on him, and he just doesnt care. He never did, but it is the people of Cleveland who are in the wrong here. Stop trying to make this quitter your hero. Yes I called him a quitter, not a failure, not a choker, a quitter. Millions of us watched you Lebron just quit on your team , and your fans against the Celtics during the playoffs. WE WATCHED YOU QUIT. That in itself tells me that youll never become what you already believe yourself to be. Youll never be like Mike. Hell you will never even be like Bryant. In the end Magic, and Bird will still be better, and better remembered. All of these names can be followed by the title World Champion, but they have more than that in common because they all managed to win it all for the teams that drafted them, not King Shames. Le Gone never even made it to the finals for Cleveland, but you go on get the F____ out! Go get paid . You are a disgrace. I might travel the world in search of a better ball player, and never find one, but I could walk half a block in Cleveland and meet a better man. You may fit right in where ever you go, but you dont belong here anymore, we have standards.

i have contended that Lebron has no heart for the game. does not take charge or inspire team-mates. every year he got a better Cavs team and did nothing with them.

Agreed, the city bent over backwards for him, gave him everything he asked for, and he turned around and suckered them for it. He will now do the impossible, and eclipse Art Modell as the most hated single person in the history of the city.

Yea, not a fan of the man. Hope he goes to the Knicks, they pay millions, and never win anything.

This is different and Ill tell you why, because that was Orlando. They have palm trees there. There are no palm tree's in Cleveland. This is going to devestate an entire city's economy, all so some megalomaniac can become the worlds first billion dollar athlete. It doesnt even matter if he stays now as far as Im concerned, King Shames is dead to me.

I've been in Cleveland, once. Horrible city, at least IMO, as a Tampa native. I don't know why anybody would want to be there. Then there"s the rumors that LeBron's teammate was sleeping with his mom. Chances are he'll be much happier, and more productive, when he leaves. You mentioned Cleveland improving the team around him, but I don't think anybody expects them to be good next year, so how improved are they really? I don't fault him at all.

Ok Ill play, you obviously have some kind of beef. Im not sure whether its with my viewpoint, or my hometown , or just little ole me, and I could care less. Im not nearly as impressed with you as you seem to be with yourself, and your estimation of my fanhood means less than nothing to me , why dont you go moderate something.

My dad's from Ohio. I've been there several times as a kid. It's nothing personal, it just seemed like it really needed fixing up. That was way back in the 70's and 80's. I also know a lot of people from up there that moved down here, and they like it much better here. Maybe it's much nicer up there now; I haven't been there in 20 or so years. There's a lot of big cities I haven't liked; it has nothing to do with the people, I just didn't like them. Tampa's big now too, but I guess because I grew up here it doesn't bother me so much. Still, if I had my way, I'd live in the Smokey mountains, far from any big city. Then I could just root for the team with the finest cheerleaders, the way God intended it to be.

Lebron has scheduled an hour long ESPN special on Thursday night to make his announcement... I too have really lost enthusiasm for the man.

"It's gotten ridiculous," Orlando coach Stan Van Gundy said. "It's almost like a parody of itself, this whole situation now. Come on, an hour long? It takes 15 seconds to say I've decided to stay in Cleveland but we've got another 59 minutes and 45 seconds to, what? Promote LeBron James?"

Go Stan! Hope the Magic kick LBJ's butt next year.

Sometimes , most times it really sucks to be right. Like I said before Ive known for some time that Lebron was leaving, but even I had no idea the depths to which this fraud would sink. Now it comes to my attention that you intend to continue living in Ohio. Please rethink this disastrous course of action. The people that loved you yesterday, are now the people that hate you today, and after your shameful display last night some of those people will be looking for payback. I dont advocate this kind of behavior, but Ive come to expect it from people who have been jilted. You made this as personal, and hurtful as you possibly could, and now it is the people you have have wronged that will get a chance to make you feel their pain, anyway they can. Please take your family, and leave . For all our sakes.

No sh!t. Even in Dan Gilbert's diatribe last night (Go Dan!! You just became my 2nd favorite owner :) ) he says it isn't that LBJ left, it's HOW he did it. Unprofessional doesn't even begin to describe it.

I really liked the part where Gilbert said that the Curse has gone to South Florida with him.

Well I was going to root for the Heat, but they just lost Jermaine O'Neal and Michael Beasely, so they have NO big men, no bench and two players: Wade and LeBron who have to start with the ball--that will cancel things out quickly.
Now that my Suns have blown up with Amare on the defenseless/Lee-less Knicks...maybe I'll skip next season.

Mike Miller may be signing with Miami. and they will have enough money to fill out the bench.

with the right role players, Raja Bell, Matt Bonner, etc..

the will be the best team in the east.

I love the way Gilbert, and the fans in Cleveland are being cast as villains by ESPN, Dwight Howard, Reggie Miller, and just about anybody they can get to appear on TV. Of course they are going to react that way, they worked as hard as they could to make this happen. "See how they are acting, of course he wanted to leave." These idiots are going to blame the victims? Why not just say " ...of course she got raped look how she's dressed."

Yes, because Dan Gilbert's remarks were SO professional.
