At 1:23:45.67 a.m., wherever those who post dates in m/d/yy format live, if was...
1:23:45.67 8/9/10!
Oh, happy day.

...or rather, happy thousandth of a second.
I prefer my bliss less fleeting, thank you.

I prefer my dates in logically ascending order.

Oh, happy day.

I'll swear on a stack of whatever you wanna stack up - I wrote the date 8/9/10 in a chart today and thought to myself, "I wonder if Menolly has noticed the date?"

I will try desperately to remember on September 8th to wish you the same, Murrin.

My apologies for the double post; we posted at the same time and I didn't see your post dlb.
On a stack of whatever I want to stack up, huh???
Fair enough.
Here are some stacked Gators for you to swear upon...

Well, there goes my train of thought.
What were we talking about, anyway? While those Gators are easily young enough to be our daughters, I will not deny that they were distracting.
Ah, yes...
Murrin, I believe you are not so old as I...a safe bet on my part. Would you consider those dates to be in logical ascending order?

Huh?
I'm used to d/m/y, which makes more sense. You put units of measurement from largest to smallest or smallest to largest, you don't just mix them up.

Sorry for the confusion, Murrin. Mine was a weak attempt at humor, referring to the three young women in Menolly's post as potential dates and asking if you considered them to be in the logical ascending order...of preference, presumably.
Rather fell flat.

Frankly at this point I don't care what order the dates are in...the young lady is correct, she's #1...

Thank you, Rob. That had been my assessment as well, but when I privately informed the poster of that, I was told that this was more run-of-the-mill for UF coeds and that another was considered to be more comely.
Whatever. Tastes differ, I suppose. Nevertheless, I appreciate your concurrence validating my (disinterested!) preference.
Really hoping this is not the evening Dam-sel decides to start perusing the Watch...

when may we see the better-than-run-of-the-mill-coeds?

Well, IMO, the one in the middle is a better-than-run-of-the-mill coed for UF.
But then, I have always preferred blondes.
Although, I do like the brunette better than the blonde on the right.
...if we must judge at all, that is.

I find it highly entertaining that DLB hasn't posted since Menolly put that picture up. I'm guessing he's kind of conflicted...

Well, when plating, it's all brown to me.
Edit: Okay, who logged on as me?

Really, we should all be listing dates as YYYY/MM/DD, which would mean that when put into "alphabetical" order the dates would all appear in the right place.
As it is, if you have, for example, a folder full of photos named after the date/time they were taken, they're all in the wrong fucking order. It's about time they sorted this out.
Edit: It makes perfect sense too, you write most other numbers with the biggest part on the left (currency, times, distances, etc.) so why not dates?
The Y/M/D system would also create a nice compromise between the British and American styles. Americans get to keep their strange M/D order and we get to keep a sensible largest to smallest (or vice versa) arrangement.
Edit 2:
As for the girls in the picture, the one in the middle looks like she's spent too much time in tanning beds, and is just asking for an unhealthy dose of skin cancer. The one on the left has a massive, massive, massive mouth. No complaints about the blonde on the right, though I'd prefer it if she'd keep her natural hair colour, brunettes are much hotter!

I work for an FDA-regulated company that also has major European business sites... so to be completely ambiguity-free, we have adopted by Standard Operating Procedure the format DD-Mmm-YYYY, forcing double-digit day, month expressed in alpha, and four-digit year. Every time.
So Consecutive Number Day has less meaning, since I spent the entire day signing 09-Aug-2010.
[Having said that, that day will always hold special meaning for me, since it happens to be the day that the judge signed my divorce decree.] In the grand scheme, this was a very good thing, but it still made for a $#!tty day.

[Edit] -- Nathan - that's why they are called gators... they will eventually have leathery lizard skin. For now, however... they have the hawtness of youth going for them.

Youth may fade, but hawtness *can* persist far longer.
Nevertheless, dw's point is well taken. The overly-tanned appearance of the center coed figured in her not garnering the highest consideration...by me anyway. Menolly stated a preference for her and I have no idea what Rob's criteria may have been.
Nathan's critique of the coed on the left may or may not have merit. If she is articulate and well-spoken, but knows when silence is more effective, his observation need not figure to her detriment.
(Yes, I know this is massively off topic. Sorry if I find Menolly's collection of Gator fans more interesting than date sequencing. Where is dlb, anyway?)

i agree those gators have had too much sun.
