I am sorry if this has been asked and I searched briefly and could not find. Does anybody know if AATE will be in Audio format? When will it be available? Who is reading? I really enjoy Scot brick reading it and hope he does but that is my opinion. Due to my lifestyle I barely have time to read and my long work commute works swell with audio books! Thank you.

I guess I'll just wait and see. I hope there will be though.

Hi Jasprer. Scott Brick does have an account here at KW and was notified of your question. Looks like he's kinda busy right now as he hasn't replied.

From the GI:
Andy Pastuszak: Having thoroughly enjoyed Scott Bricks audiobook of Fatal Revanent, I was wondering if a similar deal has been struck to have him do an audiobook of Against All Things Ending?
It's likely, I suppose. But I don't have any solid information. Scott Brick is dedicated to the "Covenant" books. But he's risking his own money (not to mention his time), and his "Covenant" audiobooks don't sell well.

/keeps fingers crossed.
Man, IMO I think Scott does a bang up job! Wonder if the problem isn't necessarily "his" audio books not selling well but more of a in general audio books don't sell well at all.

For those who are interested. From SRD's website
"Against All Things Ending": audio version
Putnams, my US publisher, has contracted with Recorded Books to do the audio version of "Against All Things Ending." Therefore Scott Brick, who has worked on previous "Covenant" books, will not be doing the reading. The release date--I'm told by Recorded Books--is "sometime in the first quarter of 2011." But RB doesn't really know because they only do the recording: the actual production and sale is done by "Audible" (I assume that means Audible.com, but I'm not sure).
I'm unhappy about losing Scott Brick. As is my editor. But this decision, apparently, was made at a corporate level above her head, and she has no say in the matter. I certainly don't have a say.

yeah, I know. that's one big c**k-up and quite an insane decision by the powers that be. I'm sure Scott isn't too happy either! Or, at least: if I were him I wouldn't be!

I could deal with this so long as Scott eventually records The Second Chronicles.

Although I am happy that there will be an audio version soon I for one will certainly miss Scott reading it. I really did enjoy his readings.

Been looking forward to this too, since audiobooks are great companions while drawing for hours on end, etc. Apparently Audible.com released an unabridged version today, and naturally I can't include it to my subscription due to some triple-cursed licensing issues, as has occurred with quite a few other interesting books also. How splendid.
However, I believe it's available in the States now.

3 chapters in, and I can say that the reader can't hold a candle to Scott Brick. His voice inflections are all wrong. When speaking as an Haruchai, he raises his voice in pitch. Linden has a strong Bostonian accent. But, I could deal with all of that. What pisses me off and makes me want to grab a rifle and climb a bell tower is that the Giants all sound Irish. That's right! He uses an Irish accent with reading a Giant's dialogue.
SRD has been fucked by his publisher once again. What a travesty! I won't say "don't buy this audio version" since to do so would hurt SRD. But, consider yourself warned: the audio version sucks!

Ah. That's too bad--I only listened to an excerpt on Audible, and the narrator's voice didn't seem all that horrible in that portion. Yet it was from the summary with no real dialogue present.
Irish accent...I'm not entirely certain what that sounds like. Funny thing, though, now that the topic brushes the vicinity of Ireland, my imagination gave Pitchwife a John Rhys-Davies-esque Scottish voice, albeit much deeper, but my mind's ear tends to do that when it comes to some of my favorite voice actors.
The haruchai with high-pitched voices, though...ugh.

Wow, I didn't think there was any professional reader worse than Scott Brick.

Opinions differ. Scott Brick is my fav reader ever. Although I've only heard about 5-6 others. I love his reading style and flow.

my fav as well. Just met him at the 'fest. He says he was very upset about the loss of the final chronicles, that the rug was kind of pulled out from under him.
He is an amazing man, lots of fun to talk to.
