I went to work, changing from bus to train at the Pentagon, as usual. Shortly after I got to work, a co-worker told me that a plane had flown into the World Trade Center. We watched the whole thing unfold on the TV in a partner's office, including the plane that flew into the Pentagon. The firm let us go home early.

I decided to chance the Blue Line and made it through -- trains were running but not stopping at Pentagon Metro. Got home about the time Batty did. She had heard about attacks in school and had been freaking out. Students at Magickmaker's school weren't officially told, but they had heard the sonic boom when the plane hit the Pentagon (and didn't know what it was -- their school was under construction and they thought it was from that).

We commuters spent the next several months catching the train at Pentagon City Metro (which was nearly inadequate for the passenger volume) while the new Pentagon bus terminal was completed. On my first day going through the new terminal, when I saw that it had been dedicated to the 9/11 victims, I cried.

So many lives were changed that day.

In 1997 I got into a very mean spirited fight with a friend and mentor. On september 10th, 2001 my mother called and left a message.
"Bobby is dying."
The following day I called Bobby, He told me to turn on the tv. Said a cesna or someting had crashed into the world trade center. We watched the second plane hit together, friends again.
Bobby had hepititus from heroin use in the 70's.
He died in 2007, on September 11th.
