I'm gonna be in rural Virginia for my Dad's big 70 blowout birthing day bash this coming weekend. Aliantha and I are discussing her kidnapping me Sunday and bringing me to the DC area for the night. If anyone is interested in setting up a last minute meet let me know and we can see what we can get going on such short notice.

I've even got a couple of good ideas for a meeting place. Or we could just converge on my apartment. I'll just be getting back from Xarfest in NYC, tho, so a meetup spot might be better.

I'm thinking either Capitol Brewing Co. in Shirlington or Mango Mike's in Alexandria (steel drums, anyone? Well, they do those at brunch...). Just need to check operating hours since we're talking about a Sunday night.

YAY! Creator is in! I'm leaving the details to Ali since she's the local. Ali, I can't easily find my Dad's street address so I'll call you Friday with it and if you make it there early afternoon then we can hang with my family for a while before heading back to your hood. I think that would be great fun especially since you have been a great listener for some of my family dramallamadingdong.

Looks like I'm gonna have to send some pm's.... We're happy to meet not-especially-local people, too, of course. (Lorin, the buses are cheap! )

My dad sent me an email in which he was worried about you being some potentially harmful internet crazy, Ali.... I assured him that you were but since I was a much more dangerous internet crazy it was all good. Then I added pics from Denver Seafest and Danlo and Lady Tam's wedding vow renewal ceremony. That way he knows how dangerous you really are/look.

Dad's are great! My parents thought I was perhaps being a little crazy when I told them about my plans back in 2008.
