3rd chronicles addendum

I read an article in I think the UK SFX magazine, and seeing as how the previous thread has wandered off track a little I thought I'd start off a new one! In this article SRD essentially said he wanted to do a new trilogy to end the land series with, and that he didn't want people writing stories about the land after his death and that he would destroy it! He also mentioned in the article that in the new book Covenant ould become the new lord foul!
Sorry, can't remember when or whre the article was, but I'll do a little trawling and see what I can find...

Lord Foul was a nasty creature,
evil was his very nature,
he caused a lot of woes,
destroyed friends and foes,
almost as bad as my English teacher!
are you serious?

I cant believe that TC would become LF!
That means I read the redemption of TCs existance (the first three books) for nothnig!
oh well give more news, please. that wouldnt make sense!
I guess roger would have to fight his dad (like scott in goldmember)

I think it's only appropriate for Covenant to become Lord Foul!
*dodges stones*
Its the only way for SRD to properly include an otherwise dead character!
And he'd play the part sooo very well!
"Hellfire, bloody Land,I'll teach you to show me how to love again!"

Thats not true! I read in ANOTHER interview w/SRD that Covenant would be introduced as a Dead character because of the Breaking of the Law of Death.

I think that quote should be;
there is no reason for Covenant to remain dead .. as the law of death is still broken ..
the article/interview I read never said that Covenant would be a dead character .. but said there was no reason for Covenant to remain dead.
.. clearly I am paraphrasing .. but thats along the lines of the interview that I read some time ago.
Welcome ragsaw!! and .. to echo the words of a great and noble one .. wow!!!
Please try and link or copy and paste the article here .. it sounds very interesting..
Ofcourse it didnt say which Covenant would become LF .. Roger would make a nice LF methinks ..
It would be very odd for TC to become LF .. I feel like salty-foamy .. it would make the entire redemption of TC redundant! Unless ofcourse they always were the same character .. and TC in defeating Foul has merged entirely with him ..
Wouldnt he be a better Foul then? Would the LF side of him corrupt the TC side? It is possible .. but I am not entirely comfortable with it!
It is interesting .. though .. I can see a lot of power-plays competing for TC-LF's redemption .. or ultimate destruction!!! .. LA could be there .. Joan .. Roger .. the dead ..
even though it is not what I would like .. it would certainly make for an interesting finale.
especially if SRD wants to destroy the 'earth' so that no other after his death can add to the chrons .. a tragic end to the entire series indeed.

but in that very same interview he stated that the 3rd Chronicles will be about acceptance, and I cannot reconcile that statement with the Land/Earth destroyed
of course he might have changed his mind over the years
so TC will discover the true might of wild magic in the end - 'cause the Arch will have to be destroyed, won't it?

Sky, thats the interview I was referring to, thanks!

TC as the new LF?!!!! (jaw is scraping on the ground)
Caoimhin - boy did you nail it on the head!! How typical of TC to say that!
Let's not forget the paradox! TC's redemption and acceptance and love of the Land. LF had a very easy time controlling Kevin with the Illearth Stone. Maybe now that TC's dead, LF can do the same to him! I hate to say it, but I can see it happening!

I cant. Even in death, Covenant is VERY strong-willed. I havent read of Kevins war w/the Despiser, so I dont know what kind of will he had, but its probably nothing like Covenants.

A thought that just occured to me while posting in another thread - what if Roger has leprosy? Joan was right...in the short time Roger was with his father, he, by some outside chance, contracted Hansen's disease... It would provide possible motivation for him to battle his father...

Thats an interesting idea....a little of the subject...lol
But I think Joan might have taken...the necessary precautions early on the stages of leprosy. I dont know, Im not ruling out the possibility......

I think that's quite unlikely from a medical point of view and SRD is fairly familiar with the disease so he would not go for this option, but we will see
think he will come up with some new ideas, leprosy again would be repetitive

I have absolutely no doubt that SRD will not take this route. I was just musing...
4 Chronicles

Should there not be four chronicles corresponding to the old lords?
We've had "Halfhand" and "Giantfriend"; we await "Vilesilencer" and "Landwaster".

You will become a shadow of what I am - you will be a despiser without the courage to despise.
-Lord Foul, from The Power that Preserves
Hmmm, it is possible and has been predicted. I think it would be an interesting twist, myself.

Ah, I knew LF had said something to that effect somewhere, but I was too lazy to look it up

Good work, Angus!
