A Finnish band that does HUMPPA covers with Finnish lyrics of all and everything that doesn't get up a tree on a count of three. And they drink tons of beer and vodka orange during their gigs, I am a witness - I saw them live a couple of times and hang out with them
Desert Planet

I did a cassette album on a Finnish label called "absolutely sweet tapes." 1987, I think.
It was called "from dream to dreaded jade." It did not sell a single copy.

I also love Finnish hardcore from the 80s. Pohjasakka rules.

Vader, you're into Type O, so you should dig Blake - Finnish stoner rock band. Vocalist has a kinda Danzig/Steele vibe. Basso.
Blake: Man is a Planet
www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVcIxtkphHI Check the bass in the chorus.
Fireroot be a good album to pick up.
Plutonium Orange are also pretty sweet.
Aaaand that's about all the Finnish bands I know...other than black/death metal bands. Beherit are awesome.

Not quite metal, but Husky Rescue hail from Finland and are one of my fave bands. Seen them live twice now, they put on a great show (And Reeta isn't difficult to look at!)
Diamonds in the Sky
Beautiful My Monster even managed to cure a goddess of quadrophenia over in Gravin Threndor

From across the street, you see a whorehouse.
One man is entering the front door, in much haste and trepidation.
Silhouetted in the window, we see a man doing many a vaguely suggestive thing with a woman.
Exiting the back door, we see a man with a spry step and a keen smile.
Can you guess their nationalities?
This is an old joke!

I have come across referances to a band called Amberian Dawn. Does any one know anything about them?

I know next to nothing, which is still enough to know the question belongs in this thread. As for what I know: the singer has a pretty, operatic voice, the band (who seems to be endorsed by Ibanez) is metal, and a bit like Evanescence but not really. Also, James Earl Jones has a voice-over in
Incubus, that's probably taken from
Conan. Pretty cool band, though I'm more into something like
The Flower Kings. But they're Swedish, so not really for this thread.

"Stillness is gained only through an absence of dread..." I don't think I've ever seen swirling petals in such a foreboding, dangerous way, before.
Great playing by the band Whispered; they are undeniably talented!

The song's a bit too repetitive for me, but I can't fault the band for lack of enthusiasm. They clearly enjoyed themselves enough playing this that the camera operator started getting hedonistic.

Nice lead singing, I must admit.
