I'm split on this... it could be good, but from other trailers, it looks like it's going to be bad... and it's PG-13.....ergggg.....

But I'll probably end up seeing it anyway :P

Looks like a mix of Transformers with War of the Worlds with a dash or two of Independence Day.

And I didn't like any of those movies.

Well, the aliens / vehicles look a lot better than 'War of the Worlds', imho. So, we'll see.

I read an article today that states that Skyline was essentially self produced by extrordinary special effects talents but suffers from a clumsy script, poor acting and irritating characters. The last film I saw that meets that description was LEGION which featured very impressive special effects but was in general a convoluted almost unwatchable movie. Skyline opens this friday and there are almost no reviews to be found anywhere. I'm guessing there is a good reason for that.
It might be fun just for the spectacle level effects.
I'll probably wait until it comes out on blueray unless I hear differently once reviews finally begin to appear.

Heh, I actually enjoyed Legion. Not great by any stretch, but entertaining.

Sounds like the best thing since Lyme disease!

That was a good movie--in a Tobey Maguire clubbing seals way.

Nah. It was more of a "You bite into the best tasting hamburger you've ever eaten only to find half a squirming cockroach sticking out of the bun" kind of way.

It sucks, don't waste your money on it. It's CGI glory with little to no story and ending that is beyond just retching bile. The characters fit right into a Final Destination or I know what you did Last Summer movies. Here's to World Invasion: Battle for LA next year, which looks way better.

Ah, but that's better than only finding *half* the cockroach :)

I kinda guessed it would be bad when I noticed this guy in the trailer.

As the opening credits began I realized why this movie wouldn't be good. The Production Company/Entertainment Group list was too long (I think there were 8 ). Too many cooks, I thought.

The movie showed that to be true. I hardly cared for any of the characters, and what happens in the movie is basically inevitable. The audience saw the whole movie from the perspective of a small group of people (6), somewhat Cloverfield-ish, but without the originality. Almost the entire movie is spent in the penthouse of a 20-story condo, or on the roof.

The acting is okay but again, I found it hard to care about any of them except maybe the lead.

The only part of the movie I'd recommend is the aerial battle. About the only time in the movie I really cared what might happen, but it was sadly short.

As far as the ending goes, let's just say that whoever thought that up was probably the guy with the original premise and his part was relegated to the last 10 minutes. Really odd way to end a movie.

In some ways, I think the movie might have been better if it cut out most of the movie and got to the ending stuff sooner. Can't say more without spoiling--if such a disappointing movie can be spoiled.

For some reason, that one line made me want to see this movie more than anything else anyone has said about it.

I'm not gonna pay for it, though. I'll wait till I can get it from Netflix.
