ok, on the internet lots of abreviations are used for common terms, some are used specificly on kevinswatch. Most of the people here probably know what they mean, but not everyone does..I for one have trouble with a couple of things.

So, anyway, this is supposed to be a list of net/watch talk that people may not understand

I will start:

lol-laugh out loud
rofl-roll on floor laughing
TC-Thomas Covenant
TCTC-the chronicals of Thomas Covenant
SRD-Stephen R Donaldson(what is his middle name?)
BTW-by the way
BRB-be right back
BBL- be back later
...
there are hundreds of them, please feel free to add to the list...

LF = Lord Foul

That one got me when I first joined the Watch. I had previously belonged to a Martin board so was used to that meaning a Martin character named Littlefinger. I couldn't figure out for a few days why everyone was talking about a George Martin character on a Donaldson board.

LOTR = Lord of the Rings
FOTR = Fellowship of the Ring
TTT or TT = The Two Towers
ROTK = Return of the King
those are ones I often see, too

ASOIAF = George Martin's series A Song of Ice and Fire, or the huge discussion board over on EZboard dedicated to it
WOT = Jordan's fantasy series Wheel of Time
SOT = Goodkind's fantasy series Sword of Truth
Those three don't come up so often here at the Watch, but are widely used on some other fantasy discussion boards I sometimes go to.

Duchess, I'm glad you cleared up that ASOIAF thing, I've wondered about that for ages...
