I have just read AATE for the first time, and as usual it was a hungry read (meaning that I tore in to it like a starved man, not taking in some of the wonderful nuances)... Which is why I always have to read his stuff a second time shortly thereafter.
Anyhoo, I had a cuople of "What the heel were they thinking?!" moments that I would like to share and get opinion on...

Jeremiah Captured: OK, so they have the Krill against the neck of the 'succubus' in order to prevent it from working 'magics' through J. But, why the heck don't they tie his wrists together, or to his wiast, to prevent,
a) flailing about at people, and
b) performing magics -- for it seems in all the previous descriptions, J needs to do some sort of gestural component to work magic.
It just didn't make sense!

TC shunning Linden: Linden so badly wants to just HUG the man. OK, even just an

I love you, Linden.

while she's awake for godssake! Nothing. His answer is that he didn't want to make it harder for her to not follow him. CRAP! Has NO ONE learned that you need love! Just annoyingly frustrating that no one has learned this lesson yet.

I hear you, Usivius. But I think that even in life some of the simplest lessons are the hardest to fully acquire or learn completely.

As for the example of needing love, I think this is a central aspect to the eventual healing of both Linden and Covenant. There is also love in the world. Linden learned this lesson in the 2nd Chronicles. But time has passed since then, and she's going to have to, not relearn the same lesson, but learn it anew, take it deeper or to another level.
