I am so torn. On one hand it's Ridley Scott. On the other hand it seems all the greats are screwing up their earlier master pieces. I got an email from movie blogger that holds Movie Poster contests every once in awhile. So I put one together.

Is that the official title?

I, personally, think Ridley Scott only directed one good movie in his life: Alien. The rest were mediocre to bleh. James Cameron's movies are at least mostly entertaining....

Kevin, what is that? I don't even know what I'm looking at.

LOL the bane of an artist. It's a horse...no really. Yeah I could see it being a dog, but really it's a horse.

On Scott...I also liked Blade Runner, and Legend, despite Cruise and inconsistency, had some really good things and a KILLER soundtrack.

Have you seen The Duellists? That is an astounding film. As far as I'm concerned, Scott made three great films - The Duellists, Alien, and Blade Runner. He then went from being a visionary to being a very competent hack. Most of his films are of no interest to me.

Oh and the plot of the Prequel is rumored to be about the Jockey Pilot race hence the dead elephant on my poster This time they explain the origins of the Alien with a little Broke Back Mountain thrown in.

Agreed, Scott's made two astounding movies (The Duelists and Alien), and made a bunch of others that suck to varying degrees.

I'm skeptical about this film. It seems completely unnecessary.

You aren't into Bladerunner? That has got to be one of the top 100 films ever made!

BR is an OK film, but a horrible adaptation of P.K. Dick's book. It is, as far as I'm concerned, an overwrought, style-over-substance mess.

I never could read Phillip Dick. He will suddenly alter everything he's writing about and there is absolutely no context to understand what he's writing about.
"Do Androids dream of electric sheep?" is the most accessible thing I've tried to read of his, but I can't understand it either.
My daughter doesn't like it either. She doesn't like the acting.
How old are you Cail? Joust curious. Younger people who do not remember when the film came out don't realize how ground breaking this film was.
I'd kind of like to check out "the Duelist" now.

I'm 42. I saw BR in the theater during its original release. I was suckered into seeing it again when the "Director's Cut" was released ("oh look, the unicorn from Legend").

And sorry, there really isn't much "ground breaking" about BR other than the set design, which I will whole-heartedly agree is fantastic. The story is so-so, the acting (except for Rutger Hauer) is somnolent, the pacing is off, and worse, the film just doesn't work for me.

As an '80s, sci-fi take on noir detective films, it's not bad. As a statement on humanity it fails.

There's a scene in the DC of BR of a live-action unicorn that is lifted from Legend.

Cail is spot on.

Cool poster kevin! Immediately knew that was the space jockey. It's a rather iconic image if you're a big Alien fan!

P.S. Black Hawk Down was an excellent movie from Ridley Scott.
