What happened to 'clingor'?

How come, seeing as how the Harauchi never forget anything and all, they don't seem to have any clingor in the Last Chrons. It always struck me as pretty useful stuff and it seems unlikely that they would have abandoned it by choice (unless it's stickyness was a manifestation of Earth power that they as Masters could no longer countenance. (Doesn't seem to stop them using the old 'mindspeak' though does it and surely this is a product of earthpower if anything is - the double standard using hypocrites!).

p.s Only joking - I love those guys. I for one was dismayed when Stave cried. I like my harauchi dispassionate and inscrutable, not blarting into a hanky.

I think it's likely that while they certainly remember clingor, they never knew how to make it. Or grow it? Wasn't it some kind of vine? Maybe the plant didn't survive the Sunbane.

Was this something the Giants introduced to the Land? I thought I read that somewhere (LFB, perhaps?). Or I could just be confused on this as it was Foamfollower who introduced clingor to TC in the first book.

I'll need to go home and look through my copy of TFC, but it could be that clingor was a product of the lore of the Lords and Loresraat, and that if this is the case it's plausible to suppose that knowledge of it may have been lost or suppressed by the Clave.

From the GI:
Tammy - Arizona: Mr. Donaldson,

After reading some of the questions posted here in the GI this one may seem a little frivolous, but after re-reading the First Chrons again it has been nagging at me.

What ever happened to "clingor"? It was used quite frequently in LFB, but it seems to have disappeared after that.

Take care, and thank you for keeping us so entertained throughout the years!!

I'm sorry. I don't have a better answer than, "I didn't need it after that." Sometimes things get left behind just because there's no room for them in the suitcase.

The Giants brought clingor to the Land. After their massacre, there was no way to make it anymore.

Job done!

(p.s. Thanks HLT - The question made me think of that too - and I posted it!)
