Console or PC - The ultimate gaming question?

they both have advantages and disadvantages, a couple of years ago, Pc without a dubt, but consoles are advancing...

consoles have the net now

you don't need to upgrade a console, all the games run perfectly and smoothly

no instalation on consoles

...But can they ever match the versatility of a PC?

I am a hardcore pc gamer for sure. Favorite games are Quake III, Unreal Tournament, Halflife, Jedi Knight II, Thief, Max Payne and a butt load more. :-)

It has been kicked many times before. :-) I don't have high speed IC at the moment, but when I did I spent a great deal of time getting my butt handed to me. When I get into a room I tend to focus on the jerks sniping. I'll die a hundred deaths to get the jackass on the tower. :-)

You are so dead! Actually I've found most of the good sniping places in most maps and I've used my scope more than a few times. "HEADSHOT!" 8O

yes, although it seems to say "headshot" even when you hit them in the leg... :?

HAH! Some games are worse than others. Soldier of Fortune did a pretty good job of body damage although it seemed a little grusome to watch a thug hop on one leg when the other had been blown off. You just had to put him out of his misery quick. I'm really glad we're talking about games. 8O

Yes, well, it seems that in UT you can hit them anywhere and get a headshot (as long as your using a sniper rifel)

Of course i don't worry about head shots, it all merges into one when you hear the voice say "GODLIKE" hehehe

It really depends on the game - For most games, I'd say console, but some (RTS, God/management sims) the PC is better to use.

Thief is my favourite game of all time.

My two favorite gaming experiences (Ultima Online and Baldur's Gate II) were on the PC. And nothing quite beats the fun of online games like Tribes 2. Nonetheless, that won't keep me from drooling when I get a shiny new PS2 for X-mas! :bounce03:

PS2 is good, but it still doesn't compare to a PC

Okay...I still don't get it...

...everyone swears by PC FPS' vs. Console FPS'...and yet, I've always felt that console FPS' have a far more realistic movement speed and feel than their PC counterparts...

...I can see how one can target faster with a mouse...but...I dunno...just always felt better on console...

You poor, sad man... j/k ;)

Anyway, movement speed is dependent on the particular game. I personally feel that the movement in most console games is too slow; but then, I'm used to the rough-and-tumble of Unreal Tournament on the PC (don't try it on the console). Of course, I also know how fast I can run, and UT feels more like that.

True...but can you keep up that pace and energy level very long? Maybe that would be a unique idea for an FPS...

It could just be because it's what I'm accustomed to, but I find controlling games far easier with a controller than a keyboard and mouse. Some strategy games offer an exception; Civilization, for instance, is quite niggly to play with a controller.

Console all the way.

My PC is for internet, and other computery related things. :D

This is a toughie, mainly because I agree that some games and types of games work better on the PC (RTS, FPS), but overall I'd give up the headache of installing with fingers crossed that the sucker works to play on a console any day. Plus, PC's don't tend to have as many weird peripherals, which I seem to be a mark for.
