That there are going to be many changes to the original three episodes before George Lucas let's, them out on DVD? If there are, can someone tells me?

The name of the other thread is:
"Should Lucas embelish Episodes IV,V & VI any further?"
There were some great posts and one really interesting report on a rumor about the changes.

Why not just have them move yours over there? It was there first, after all. Or are you afraid you're gonna lose a topic?

I may as well post my question here, its a good a place as any...
Um, is it true that they are going to remake IV, V, VI entirely? I've heard 'rumours' but don't know.

I'd surprised. I doubt even George Lucas would think that is a good idea........ I hope....

Call me heretical but I am of the opinion he should never have touched the originals. They worked - they were loved. The idea of adding more stuff to it just to fulfill his original vision is a slap in the face of the originals. I mean, we liked them so why add more? Now he is adding more to them. How sad. Using Lucas' logic, should we now add in more German soldiers in old WW II movies because they wanted more back then but couldn't get them???

I think that is an accurate analogy.
Well if you were hoping that the orignal films might be left to at least their special edition versions I have some bad news for you. Here you go.

Sebastian Shaw has been removed from the "ghost trio" at the end of JEDI and replaced by Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker.
OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!

Also, Boba Fett's original lines (few as they were) have apparently been re-voiced by the actor who played Jango Fett in the prequels.
The line about Leia remembering her mother while talking to Luke in the Ewok village has been changed.

I know I'm something of an apologist for Lucas and his vision but these changes are starting to bother me. I didn't mind the additions that he added a few years ago, but substituting Anakin in the final sequence of ROTJ is totally unnecessary, IMO.

And why stop here?
Let's go back into Star Trek's archives and superimpose the aging actors as they really look now (Shatner and Spock) onto the original episode of The Deadly Years, because that would be more realistic looking than the makeup effects of the late sixties.
SHEESH!!!!!!!!

Boy Roland you've really opened a can of worms now. Imagine replacing all of those static cut scenes of the original enterprise with state of the art digital special effects i.e. the DS9 episode where Sisko, Dax and company travel back in time to the original series episode The Trouble with Tribbles. The shots of the exterior of the enterprise were actually very neat. How about replacing that ridiculous scene in the Doomsday machine where the crappy Constellation model is clumsily filmed entering the maw of the alien weapon. There are hundreds of "improvements" that Paramount could make before they release the new dvd set. Don't give 'em any ideas!

It's scary, Tom, isn't it?
We could even reshoot the chariot race in Ben-Hur and give it some digitally enhanced gravity-defying double flips.
Nimoy inadervently shows too much emotion in a scene? No problem - just erase the facial expression and paste in a deadpan Vulcan look from a preferred episode.
And Lucas could have taken all this extra energy and put it to a more creative use - like a better script for Star Wars III.

Ooohh, you guys have got my imagination going. Wow, just imagine, a shot of a pristine digital version of the original Enterprise! Then we cut to a bewildered Kirk: "Mr. Spock, explain the meaning of all this."
Anyway, this could work! They could digitally replace all the pre-bumpy head Klingons in one fell swoop!

HOLY COW! I forgot all about that!
It was pretty funny on DS9 when they asked Worf to explain the difference between the two Kingons and all Worf will say is "We do not discuss it."
Heh.
