Henry Cavill is Superman

Brit Henry Cavill - best known for his role in The Tudors -- has been cast for the next Superman movie. He apparently was in the running for the previous Supes movie, but lost out to Brandon Routh.

What's the plot supposed to be on this one?
Something different like Lex Luthor has some evil land stealing scheme?
I love Superman, has to be one of my favorite characters of all time but damn! the movies suck ass.
II was fun though....

As Charles Brandon, he was one of the few characters you could, almost, actually trust--I could see him as Supe, but, then again WHY do we need another Superman movie? Even Smallville is starting to get campier than usual...just have Welling play the part and be done with it!

Thanks to danlo's disturbing image, I may have to lock this thread before I puke. Knowing nothing about Cavill, I still prefer him to Welling.

Dang, looks like they may have messed up again; yet another metro superman. They need a chiseled square chined superman like Reeve and the comix/toons; not another skinny doll-like in-touch-with-my-feminine-side Brandon Routh type. I don't know this Cavill chap, but looks like he needs some serious beefing up as they did for Reeve.

Although, I have so little interest in Superman. I probably won't even see the movie despite Sir Sexypants.
On a more serious note, I think he's a decent actor. I actually really liked him in The Tudors, which I am obsessed with anyways.

This will be another lame-ass Superman movie. Hollywood doesn't understand Superman and will never get him right.

not get him? All they need to do is watch the ending of Kill Bill! And yet, I agree. They don't 'get' the Hulk, either.

I like the first two movies. Very, very unimpressed with everything after. I doubt I'll ever see this in any format, and certainly won't go see it in the theater.

He needs to fight some dinosaurs. Dinosaurs from the future. No General Z, no Lex Luthor, no cheese, no Superman backstory... just some guy fighting dinosaurs, and we would have the best Superman movie ever made.
