I've started reading the Gap

Funny thing is, I found it in the library's free book section years and years before my passion for SRD was re-kindled.
I picked it up because I remembered how much I enjoyed TCTC.
By happy co-incidence it also happens to be the first book in the series!
Yay!

Welcome to an entirely new Donaldsonian universe.

The Gap is a very dark series, but persevere. This is some of his very best work.

Yeah, totally agree with SD. This is his best work.

Well I'm enjoying it thoroughly, and nothing's too dark for me!
If Donaldson can out-sick "Les Chants de Maldoror," I'll be both surprised and delighted!

Not, I think, the author's intended reaction to that scene.

I first read them from the library, and after I finished Chaos and Order I had to wait a month until TDAGD. It was agony.

Imagine how it was waiting for it to be published. THAT, my friend, was agony.

 The advantages of being a latecomer, I suppose. I'm experiencing that myself since I finished AATE.

My experience was similar. I waited reading any of the Gap books until I heard the release date of TDAGD was a couple months away. I'm not a fast reader, so I figured reading 4 Donaldson books would take more time than that, but I finished in a single month. I couldn't put the last half Chaos and Order down, not even to pee. Can't say I regret reading it that fast either.

I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the gap into vision.
